Man, I’ve been having this problem with a couple instruments, where the transpose settings are messed up when dragging in a fresh instance. This totally fixed the problem! I guess someone (probably me) accidentally made it the default. Thanks so much! I loves these quick tips.
Yeah, it’s an easy thing to overlook. Glad this was helpful!
using sylenth at the moment and after i select a synth then press play the synth changes from the selected synth always to what my be a default synth any idea how to fix this? thanks!
Hi Zalem,
Sorry for my late reply. I think I know what you’re referring to, and I believe the culprit is a hidden “program change” message that you might have in your MIDI clip somewhere. I used to run into this constantly with the Virus TI software interface. Can you confirm whether there are any program change codes in the MIDI that you’re playing back?
Nick,
Ended up fixing it, some midi settings were causing the problem. Thanks for your time!
Glad you got it fixed
Hey there Nick,
Accidentally misplaced a component of the EQ Eight device. Drums, Formant, and Instrument remain within the device. How can I reset this device and recover what I misplaced/lost if I forgot what it was called. I also have a great deal of samples I fear I might lose if I try to reset something.
Thanks
Hi Adam,
I’m a little confused as to what you’re asking here. Are you referring to an Instrument rack device or an EQ8 device? I’m assuming it’s one of the racks since there’s no way to delete part of one of Live’s built-in native plugins, but I don’t want to make assumptions before getting clarification.
I apologize for wasting your time but I have realized what I was doing wrong. stupid me… Thanks for the quick response though!
You didn’t waste my time, and I’m glad you got it figured out!
